Frequently asked questions

What is AEDM?

AEDM (the Artsolute Exhibition Design Method) is AMG's in-house method for designing trade-show booths, published free as three books, with a fourth title — an applied workbook — that puts the method to work on one project. Book 1 is the 107-page training manual: six chapters covering why companies exhibit, the anatomy of a booth, the design process, and how to produce and review a first design, business objective first and aesthetics second. Book 2 is the 128-page strategy volume underneath it. Book 3 is 45 pages of real AMG projects, with the decisions, the photographs of the build, and the mistakes. The AEDA Applied Workbook is 210 pages in Traditional Chinese: twelve chapters that carry one project from brief to booth, each ending in a document the next chapter needs.

Who is the book for?

Junior exhibition designers, design students, and marketers who want to understand how a trade-show booth actually gets designed and built. No prior exhibit experience is required.

Is the book really free?

Yes. Download the full PDF in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, or Spanish — no email or sign-up required.

Who wrote AEDM?

Calvin Yee, founder of Artsolute Media Group (AMG), an exhibition design company that designs and builds custom trade-show booths across the United States and Asia. He holds a Master's degree in Exhibition Design from California State University, Fullerton, and wrote AEDM to train the next generation of exhibition designers: how to think, not merely what to draw.
