How to Choose a Trade Show Exhibit Builder in Los Angeles

5 questions to ask before signing a contract with any LA-based exhibit house, and why local fabrication matters.

Los Angeles is home to dozens of exhibit houses. Choosing the right one can save you $10,000+ and weeks of stress. Here are the five questions to ask — and why they matter.

1. Do you fabricate in-house or outsource?

Many LA exhibit houses outsource fabrication to third-party shops — sometimes across state lines. This adds cost, time, and quality risk. AMG fabricates everything at our 15,000 sq ft facility in La Puente: woodwork, metal, fabric, and large-format print under one roof.

2. Can I visit your facility?

If the answer is no, walk away. A legitimate builder will invite you to tour their shop. AMG offers facility tours by appointment at 16453 Old Valley Blvd, La Puente, CA 91744.

3. Who handles installation?

The same crew that built your booth should install it. Subcontracting I&D to a third-party crew means your booth arrives and strangers figure it out on show floor. Insist on one team from design through dismantle.

4. What's included in your quote?

Get line-item detail. Design, fabrication, graphics, freight, I&D labor, show supervision, and return shipping should all be accounted for. "Surprise" drayage fees are the number one complaint from first-time exhibitors.

5. What happens after the show?

Post-show: inspection, repairs, cleaning, storage, and reconfiguration planning. AMG offers warehouse storage at our La Puente facility with full maintenance between shows.
