One Booth, Every Show: Why Reusing Your Exhibit Structure Saves Money and Waste

Most exhibitors build a new booth every year, which means new materials, new freight, and new waste. Toynami took the other path, and the results are visible on the show floor.

The Rebuild Habit Adds Cost and Waste Every Year

A new booth each season starts from zero. Panels, counters, and structure are fabricated again, then packed, shipped, and installed again, and last year's build has nowhere to go. The spend repeats even when the show, the audience, and the product line have not changed. Toynami chose to stop paying that cost.

One Structure Has Carried the Booth for Six Years

Toynami owns its exhibit structure and has reused it at San Diego Comic-Con for more than six years. The structure is not rebuilt year to year. It is the same build fans have walked into before, at the San Diego Convention Center, in a 30 x 60 island of 1,800 square feet. The booth serves product display, fan engagement, and retail sales across the four-day convention.

The Graphics Change, the Build Stays

Only the graphics change each year, designed around that year's show theme. Recent builds carried large-format brand graphics, custom millwork display cases, and lighting that lifted the collectible lines, including Robotech, Little Embers, and exclusive San Diego Comic-Con releases. Because the structure is familiar, fans find the booth on sight. The booth is an open island, so product zones stay clearly defined while foot traffic moves through.

The Budget Goes to the Graphics

With no rebuild and no new fabrication, the yearly budget goes to the graphics instead of a second structure. The booth stays current because the artwork is current, and the owned structure keeps its value year after year. It does not need to be purchased again for the next show. AMG designs the graphics around each year's theme, and the structure stays as it was built.

Less Material, Less Freight, Less Waste

Reusing one structure means less wood, less shipping, and less going to landfill, with a lower carbon footprint than a rebuild. A structure that ships once and returns each year also means fewer crates and less freight movement. Those effects are real but they are not the headline. The headline is that the booth still looks new.

Planning a Reusable Booth

A reusable booth starts with a structure that can outlast one show, then a graphics plan that can be refreshed each year. Artsolute Media Group (AMG) designs the graphics, and works with clients on the structure and the layout. Plan your reusable booth. Contact us at artsolutemediagroup.com.
